Spring, 2008
The Salon events were organized as an opportunity for students of Yale’s Art, Architecture, Drama and Music schools to get to know one another a little better.
To help to promote the events, we designed a poster-toolbox using the limitations of Yale’s campus notice board policy (that prohibits anything larger than an 8.5×11” sheet from being posted) and the shields from each of the four schools.
This poster-toolbox — a 16 page black and white PDF — was delivered to the organizers of each event, with suggestions regarding the color paper they should print on, and encouraged them to assemble individual pieces of the poster according to their liking when possible.
The results ranged from single flyerlike postings to large wallpaper-like murals with varied internal compositions, the mixing of the four school shields representing the mixing of the students.
